For one thing, no one wanted to answer the question on what we used to think "the generation" was (i.e '95 version). Maybe people were thinking back to all the other definitions that had gone before and wondering whether they imagined it?!
The WT conductor tried to put a positive spin on it all by saying it doesn't really put Armageddon off but then ruined it by referring to the '95 definition as "rubbish". So lets see...if he said that last week we could disfellowship him but....
....hmmm...kind of made me wonder about him.

I understand what you mean about a lot of energy wasted in whining and little action. I felt the same when I first started posting here. Then I asked myself what if anything I was doing. Nothing.
I am like an animal in a trap. When I first realised I was trapped I struggled, fought and got angry. What is left for me is resignation and a surrender to the situation. You may find yourself in the same position in a few months.

in steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control" - one of the points that assisted me the most is understanding that all cult members have a " cult " personality which turns on when defending their faith, and they have an authentic, non - cult personality they were born with- the personality they had before being programmed by the jehovah's witnesses or any other " cult".
how is this dual cult/ authentic personality manifest ?

Wow, this thread blew me away! It's so true. I need to get my hands on Steve Hassan's book. In my mind now I can "see" all of my family's two personalities. Their mannerisms, demeanour, everything flips between two states.
i have often wondered why the fds always undermined women.
they use many scriptures to explain why women are less then a man.
the first one that comes to mind is ge 2:18" .... iam going to make a helper for him" .
But there are benefits of being a female in the borg. No pressure to "reach out" for privileges since you can't have any.
